MARK TANNER, violoncello, graduated cum laude with Bachelor’s and Master’s of Music degrees from Yale. He has been active as a soloist appearing with orchestras such as the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, the Nashville Symphony, and the Orchestra de Sao Paulo in Brazil. As a chamber musician, he has participated in the Marlboro Festival. He gathered top prizes in several major competitions, including the J.S. Bach Competition and the Villa-Lobos Competition. He has served as the Principal Cellist for the San Diego Symphony, the Nashville Symphony and the New Haven Symphony, and currently teaches cello at the University of Florida.
