Recently appointed as Third/Utility Clarinet of the Chicago Sinfonietta, Hank Landrum has performed with numerous orchestras around the United States. These include the Houston Symphony Orchestra, Omaha Symphony, New World Symphony, Austin Lyric Opera, and more. Hank has spent his summers and winters holding positions and fellowships with Spoleto Festival USA, Sunflower Music Festival, Buzzard’s Bay Music Festival, the New York String Orchestra Seminar, Aspen Music Festival, the National Repertory Orchestra, and more. Through these experiences, Hank has performed with prominent conductors such as Stéphane Denève, Robert Spano, Jonathon Heyward, Karina Canellakis, Carlos Miguel Prieto, Ankush Kumar Bahl, and Mei Ann Chen. He also has performed with distinguished artists such as Emmanuel Ax, Jaime Laredo, Daniil Trifonov, Augustin Hadelich, Audra McDonald, and Kristen Chenoweth.

Hank has spent the past two years as Assistant Instructor of Clarinet at The University of Texas at Austin’s Butler School of Music. While teaching at UT, he has pursued his Doctor of Musical Arts degree that he expects to graduate with in Fall, 2024. As winner of the University Concerto Competition, Hank performed the Copland Clarinet Concerto with the UT Symphony in April 2024. He has also been a featured soloist with the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra.

Hank holds a Master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor’s degree from Florida State University. His teachers and mentors have been Jonathan Gunn, Deborah Bish, Joaquin Valdepeñas, Sasha Potiomkin, and Jonathan Holden.
