Jonathan Moerschel is an accomplished American violist recognized for his dynamic performances, expressive tone, and dedication to both traditional and contemporary repertoire. A founding member of the acclaimed Los Angeles-based Calder Quartet, Moerschel has performed extensively across the United States and internationally, appearing at major venues including recent performances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and Wigmore Hall.  In addition to his work as a chamber musician, Moerschel is a passionate educator. He serves on the faculty of the University of California Santa Barbara, teaching viola and serving as Head of Chamber Music and Director of the Ensemble for Contemporary Music.  Moerschel has also recorded over 150 soundtracks for Television and Motion Pictures.
