Sadie Hamrin

Second Violin

Originally from Minnesota, violinist Sadie Hamrin is a second-year fellow with the New World Symphony. She previously earned her master’s degree at McGill University where she studied with Axel Strauss and Violaine Melançon. Sadie completed her bachelor’s degree at Baylor University under the instruction of Patricia Shih and Bruce Berg. While at Baylor, she received the Daniel I. Moore Outstanding Senior Instrumental Performer award and won a section position with the Waco Symphony Orchestra. Sadie spent two summers as co-concertmaster of the National Repertory Orchestra, appearing as a soloist under the direction of Michael Stern. In the summer of 2025, she returned as a member of the Alumni String quartet, and also held both concertmaster and section positions at Spoleto Festival U.S.A.

Outside of performing, she’s passionate about working with young musicians. While based in Montréal, she taught with the Encore! Sistema program and is now continuing to teach in the Miami area schools.
