Jennifer Madge
First Violin
Pittsburgh-based violinist Jennifer Madge enjoys a varied career as an orchestral and freelance musician throughout the region. She is a tenured member of the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra and the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre Orchestra, where she has performed for more than thirty seasons and has appeared in leadership roles including Acting Principal Second Violin and Acting Assistant Concertmaster. Jennifer is an active orchestral performer across the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest. Her engagements have included performances with the Erie Philharmonic, Wheeling Symphony, Youngstown Symphony, Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh, the former Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble, Sunflower Music Festival, and Buzzards Bay Musicfest, among others. She has also held leadership positions including Associate Concertmaster of the Johnstown Symphony and Principal Second Violin of the Westmoreland Symphony. A versatile performer, Jennifer appears in a wide range of musical settings, from opera and ballet productions to symphonic concerts, chamber music collaborations, and commercial performances. Her performance credits include appearances with touring productions and artists such as Andrea Bocelli and Mannheim Steamroller, and she performs regularly throughout the Pittsburgh region as a freelance orchestral and chamber musician. Jennifer is also the Academy Director of The Pittsburgh Music Academy, a community-focused music school that offers instruction and ensemble opportunities for students of all ages. She holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Violin Performance from Duquesne University.
